Cal Poly's Knowledge Management Lab (KML) at the Collaborative Agent Development Research Center (CADRC) has a currently underutilized multi-blade server system with a high-performance disk array. We are planning to make "big data" services available on this system for use by researchers at Cal Poly who have difficulties dealing with large data collections. As a first step, a team of students in this class can design software and virtual machine configurations, and experiment with available big data sets.
